Quarantine homeschool is a new reality right now for us. Having a quarantine homeschool schedule, rules and printable pack is saving my sanity right now.
Here is the truth. I don’t want to be a homeschool mom. My 6,000 kids and I have had a great routine of them going to school, me working at home, and then helping with homework. I liked this routine. They liked this routine. We all liked this routine.
But then the world had to shift and we all had to adjust for the safety of our family, our community, our state, and our country. And while I am more than happy that we all are healthy and can do our part to flatten the curve… I am in agreement with 97% of the memes that are going around the internet right now that depict insanity from the moms at home.
While not the same situation, last summer I created a printable pack for the summer to help guide the kids in screen rules, morning routines, and a bucket list. This really helped both them and I make last summer one of our best summers ever.
In a moment of genius, I realized I could tweak that printable into a Homeschool printable pack and use that same packet for this home school life we have been thrown into.
Of course, I have to share it with my friends! (A.K.A YOU!) We need to share all the resources, hacks, printables, tools, and survival tips with each other right now.
In this homeschool schedule pack is a Screen Rules, a homeschool rules for your home classroom, a quarantine bucket list for activities the kids want to do, and a picture schedule for the little ones who can’t read and a blank option for you to fill out for them as well.
My favorite sheet of this printable pack is the Schedule sheet. I post it on the fridge so the kids can see exactly what is on the agenda for the day. And not just the agenda, but what they can have for a snack, what is for lunch, and what is for dinner.
These are the questions I get asked 17 billion times a day! Now, I just point at the fridge and tell them to read. Less talking for mommy? I call that a win!
There are also a few customizable sheets included in the pack, because I know that I may change the rules and routine after a few weeks of being shut in the house together. I am all about being flexible right now and working on “reading the room” when it comes to our day. If I am struggling or the kids are acting crazy and cooped up… I’m gonna change the routine, give out grace by the handfuls and be creative with our schedule to allow for lots of big feelings from everyone.
This won’t last forever, and I absolutely do not want the kids to look back at this strange time with sadness or anger.
Deep breaths, dear mom friend. You got this!
PS…
I have started a note on my phone where I can quickly write down anything another momma recommends! Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, bloggers, friends, therapists… everyone and anyone who has something to share that may work… SHARE IT! Will you tag me in any great resources you find? You can tag me on Instagram or Facebook or send me an email. I would love to make a giant blog post rounding up all of the resources we have all found!
